COVID-19 Response Plan
Zion, along with most other congregations in our area, is
joining in the effort to contain the virus while also taking care
of the ongoing ministry and the needs that increase during
these times.
Service Times: For now, the 8am Sunday service will be livestreamed on our Facebook page and will be available for viewing later. You may join the
livestream ten minutes prior to the start time. During the time
before the service, please feel free to post a comment of
greeting to your fellow worshipers, perhaps by sharing the
peace or with a simple “hello.”
Help From the Lord – Please click here to download an at home Bible study of Psalm 121 adapted by Pastor Stuckwisch. It is also included in this printable handout Devotion Material is available for pickup in the church office.
Pastoral Visitation: While visitation at hospitals, nursing
homes, and other facilities are limiting visits at this time, your
pastors will work with these institutions to provide care as
needed. We will also use discretion in making home visits,
but are always available to respond in cases of emergency.
Office Hours: The church office is open as normal to
accomplish essential tasks.
Offerings may be mailed to or dropped off at the office. The
church office can also help you arrange for giving your
offering via electronic/ACH transfer.
Altar Flowers –To place flowers on the altar please sign up on
the flower chart in the hallway across from the sacristy.
Zion Boards/Organizations
Schneck Coronavirus Hotline – If you believe you have been exposed to the virus or have concerning symptoms, call Schneck’s dedicated 24/7 hotline at 812-524-4266 for free coronavirus phone screenings. Healthcare professionals staffing the hotline will recommend the most appropriate next steps for your care. Individuals may also reach out to their provider’s office if they have questions or concerns.

Schools
Zion Lutheran School
Registration Open — Registration for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year continues at Zion Lutheran School, Seymour. As plans are now being made for the new school year, we encourage you to get your registrations completed quickly. In listening to comments & suggestions from parents at our feedback sessions last fall, changes to the program set-up has been made for the start of the new school year, with Extend Care to once again be open during the full school day in addition to before & after school hours. As always, Preschool 2, Preschool 3, Preschool 4 & Kindergarten classes are also available. Specific details & information for each program is available by checking out the school website at www.zionschoolseymour.org or calling the school office at 812-522-5911. Again, plans are already being put into place for the 2020 summer extend care program & the 2020-2021 school year; thus, get your registration process completed right away.
ZLS Reading Curriculum Effort – The new reading curriculums for ZLS for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year has been ordered. As you have seen in past weeks, we are promoting a “Reading Curriculum Sponsorship” fund drive. The purchase cost of these materials is $14,817.62 for all student/teacher materials (consumable & non-consumable). Currently we have raised $7,797 toward our fund drive goal—still needing $7,020.62 to fulfill the cost. Join us in this effort by donating to this most worthy cause, to help our ZLS children to become proficient readers! We need your financial assistance desperately! Sponsorship levels are:
- Platinum Level: $2,500+
- Gold Level: $1,500 – 2,499
- Silver Level: $500 – 1,499
- Bronze Level: any amount up to $499
